Praying in Her Own Voice is the story of the “Women of the Wall” who spearheaded the battle for female equality in the religious world and the right for women to pray out loud, wear a tallit and read from the torah at the Western Wall in Jerusalem. This thought provoking documentary follows their struggle and legal battle all the way to the Israeli Supreme Court. It is an outcry protesting religious coercion and the violent silencing of women that raises questions about Judaism, Feminism and Israel.

Rabbi Deborah Brin who led the first women's service at the Western Wall in 1988 will be joining us to share her perspective.
